For our Ballast & Buoyancy division in the Netherlands, we are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Sales & Business Development Manager who will handle our Heavy Load Testing and Buoyancy portfolio (Ballast water bags, Load testing equipment and Air lift bags). This role has good, long term, career opportunities to expand into a management position.

Job Role:

You will be responsible for improving year on year revenue and profitability of our heavy load testing and buoyancy product and service markets in Mainland Europe with our existing and new business partners. The clients are end-users as well as agents & distributors related to the on-shore & off-shore, civil, maritime and energy industries we serve worldwide.

Main Areas of Involvement and Responsibility:

  • Sales: Formulate, implement and execute the sales strategy, including preparing the annual budget and follow up on Budget vs Actual developments during the year
  • Business Development: Investigate new customer and market opportunities; propose new product and/or service development; visit and participate in exhibitions; research cross selling opportunities with other Unique Group offerings
  • Internal sales: Work closely with the Internal Sales department for quotation and tracking purpose.
  • Administration: Input the CRM module with the correct customer and opportunity quotation-order information for proper business data collection and smooth execution of orders
  • Operations: Engage actively with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth processing of orders in order to deliver the right quality, within the agreed delivery time, against the agreed costing
  • HSSEQ: Adhere to our continuous improvement culture for all our divisions, with focus on our global Health & Safety, Security, Environment and Quality standards.

 

Qualification and Other Requirements:

Nationality: Open

Travel: The role is based in Werkendam, the Netherlands. However, international travel might be required about 40% of time. Should be able to drive and travel internationally frequently within mainland Europe (driving licence level B and passport needed).

Languages: Dutch and an excellent command of the English language is required; knowledge of German and French is an advantage.

Education: HBO or equivalent (Commercial), or comparable level degree plus proven track record in Selling. Experience in maritime, civil, on & offshore crane market activities is an advantage.

Work Experience: At least 5-7 years proven commercial track record with proven capability to expand and/or find new markets and customers.

  • Able to build relationships for long term, mutual commitment to business; able to establish strong relationships both inside and outside the organization
  • Must have experience working in Matrix structures and in a multi-cultural environment
  • Able to work with CRM system (Microsoft D365)
  • Experienced in using social media channels to market
