A.G.O. PID 02: Lightweight Electric Winch (1.5kW)
The AGO PID 02 is a fully-enclosed winch for light duty oceanographic and geophysics research applications. It has a powder coated aluminium tube frame with the drum positioned in front of a rear mounted motor and gearbox. As with our other AGO winches the PID 02 is well equipped with a spooling gear and other high quality design features ensuring that it is easy to install and use. Typically this winch is used with side scan sonars on smaller inshore survey vessels.
Features
It can accommodate the addition of many standard AGO winch add-ons, including a level wind, drum ratchet, sprocket-assisted manual backup drive, and more.
The PID 02 is nominally fully enclosed to conveniently meet site safety requirements and ensure better protection from the elements for the motor and drive train components.
Its low centre of mass relative to the CSW-6/7/9 Classic winches also make it more ideal for high load applications.
