Manage daily operations of Unique Group, Australia Office. This role is intended to deliver high-quality technical solutions in subsea electronics while demonstrating adaptability, initiative, and strong interpersonal skills in a collaborative environment.

Job Description

Technical Leadership & Support

  • Provide effective technical support for workshop operations, equipment, and personnel.
  • Deliver engineering support and input for projects, bids, and customer requirements.
  • Offer strategic guidance and expert advice on equipment applications and selection.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technical developments; share knowledge internally.

Operational Management

  • Manage day-to-day operations of equipment and staff.
  • Oversee rental operations, workshop activities, and equipment storage facilities.
  • Administer rental and sales contracts, including order processing and document control.
  • Ensure compliance with export controls and maintain knowledge of relevant regulations.
  • Manage logistics, asset tracking, and ERP system updates for accurate inventory control.
  • Coordinate with global offices for rental system availability and shared resources.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Implement and manage quality assurance programs within the division.
  • Uphold and promote QHSE Management System standards and foster a positive QHSE culture.
  • Ensure all activities align with company moral and ethical standards.

Customer & Business Development

  • Develop strong business relationships with clients and promote company products/services.
  • Assist with customer satisfaction initiatives and internal process improvements.
  • Support the growth and development of all business segments and capabilities.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide leadership, direction, and management to technical and administrative staff.
  • Foster internal staff development and maintain high performance standards.

Reporting & Communication

  • Report internally and externally on operational progress, sales, and rental activities.
  • Collaborate with global teams (e.g., Singapore Operations Manager) for Power BI reporting and process improvements.
  • Communicate technical updates and best practices across the organization.

Strategic Contribution

  • Represent company interests in technical discussions and decision-making forums.
  • Apply knowledge of industry trends to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Undertake additional duties as directed by the Line Manager or Directors.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor-level qualification in Electronics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the offshore survey or ROV industry.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills, including negotiation, conflict resolution, and customer support.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Highly driven and self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 (highly regarded).
  • Experience with Power BI (highly regarded).
  • Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • High degree of computer literacy and proficiency in common business applications.
  • Australian Work rights (required).
  • Australian Driver’s License (required).
  • Forklift License (desirable)
