Education/Experience: Qualified Artisan “Red Seal” (Welder/Boilermaker) with at least 5 years’ proven experience in the layout, fit, fabricate, and assemble of metal components, using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements in accordance with company guidelines, drawings, regulations & statuary requirements. Key performance areas but not limited to the following:
  • Reads, interprets, and follows drawings to determined specific welding requirements and to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
  • Read, interprets, and follows welding procedure specifications.
  • Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
  • Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes.
  • Positions and clamps workpieces together or assemble them in jig or fixtures.
  • Tacks assemblies together.
  • Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.

The Factory Operative will be responsible for the entire process of bag assembly, adhering to strict QHSE protocols.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Preparation of panels ready for assembly ensuring in correct order and no defects are identified.
  • Accessing correct CAD file for assembly of material, selecting material type and checking for defects.
  • Cutting material into shape using CAD file.
  • Welding material together.
  • Rigging, including inflating bag, pressure test, attaching correct rig to bag (strops, shackles, metal work).
