About the Role
Unique Group is currently seeking to hire a Senior Survey Technician.
If selected, the primary role would be to support Survey activities but with the view to also supporting USV activities after receiving the necessary training on Unique’s USV systems.
The Senior Survey Technician position specializes in advanced technical support for customers, utilizing cutting-edge survey equipment. Primary responsibilities include overseeing the meticulous preparation, labeling, and comprehensive quality testing of all equipment. The Senior Technician conducts precise calibrations to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of the equipment. Collaboration with global teams is crucial to ensuring the seamless delivery of equipment. The Senior Survey Electronics Technician maintains an up-to-date knowledge of the latest technological advancements in the field.
Exceptional customer service is a key aspect, involving addressing technical inquiries promptly and resolving issues efficiently. This role also includes supervising and training Junior Technicians, ensuring adherence to company procedures, and upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and industry compliance.
Role Objectives
Support ongoing survey rental equipment preparation to a high level of quality & assist with promotion of the group USV offering (via demos, etc.) in the region. Providing high quality equipment and technical support to clients. Maintaining and contributing to the improvement of highest standards of safety, ensuring adherence to Company HSE Policies at all times
- Testing, maintenance, and calibration of survey equipment to a high standard in accordance with documented procedures to meet the deadlines required.
- Follow guidelines for inventory control for spares and consumables.
- Report any shortages with equipment or concerns.
- Responsible for verifying that equipment is within calibration specifications.
- Follow and enforce company QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) policies and industry standards.
- Follow processes outlined in company risk assessments and ensure compliance.
- Maintain cleanliness and perform regular maintenance of equipment in the workshop and stores.
- Sign off on training/competencies as required.
- Other duties as assignments by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: HNC/HND or equivalent in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or relevant experience
- Technical Skills: Extensive working knowledge of underwater survey equipment & systems
- Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years working with survey equipment – offshore experience desirable.
Behavioral Competencies:
- Hard working, self-motivated with attention to detail & a desire to learn.
