Purpose of Role
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and executing day-to-day production activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality products on time. The role retains a hands-on presence within the factory, ensuring production workflows are safe, efficient, and well-organised. The position supports high productivity levels by maintaining HSEQ compliance, developing shopfloor capability, and ensuring manufacturing infrastructure is suitably equipped.

Occupational level / Limits of Authority/ Degree of Discretion: Supervisory level role with authority over daily production operations, shopfloor resources, and people management. Acts as deputy to the Production Manager when required, with authority to stop unsafe work.
Job Description
- Take ownership of daily production activities, identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues that may impact quality, delivery, or safety.
- Maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant shopfloor environment in line with QHSSE and IMS requirements.
- Promote and embed a culture of continuous improvement through the application of 5S, lean manufacturing, and process optimisation.
- Manage shopfloor personnel on a day-to-day basis, fostering an open, supportive, and team-oriented culture aligned with Unique Group values.
- Monitor and ensure achievement of all shopfloor KPIs, driving performance and accountability.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of an accurate and effective production plan in collaboration with the Production Planner.
- Champion the use of D365, ensuring accurate, real-time entry of production, performance, and productivity data.
- Ensure shopfloor team competence by coordinating training in line with the competency matrix and promoting flexible skillsets.
- Work proactively with the Production Planner to ensure appropriate levels of materials and components are available.
- Oversee a proactive maintenance regime for factory machinery and manage repair or replacement of faulty equipment.
- Deputise for the Production Manager as required.
- Demonstrate active commitment to QHSSE, including the authority to stop unsafe work at any time.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience
- Significant hands-on experience in production activities within a factory environment of similar size and complexity.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in shopfloor operations.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, scheduling, and production planning.
- Experience with 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong HSEQ knowledge with an uncompromising approach to safety.
- Confident and decisive decision-maker with strong planning and organisational skills.
