Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Services
We provide professional Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services to inspect welds, structures, lifting points and equipment without compromising their integrity or serviceability. Our services are primarily available across the UK, with wider European coverage available for larger projects.
Our NDT services are primarily delivered as in-service inspections, covering equipment that is already in use, newly installed or ready for service. We can also provide pre- and post-load test NDT to assess critical welds and structural areas before and after load testing.

Features
In-service inspections covering equipment that is already in use, newly installed or ready for service.
Pre- and post-load test NDT to assess critical welds and structural areas before and after load testing.
Inspection methods include Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Eddy Current Testing and Dye Penetrant Testing, with the appropriate method selected based on material, application and inspection requirements.
Detailed examination reports and pass documentation confirming whether equipment meets applicable standards and requirements for continued use.
Guidance on identified defects based on available manufacturer documentation and relevant procedures, with re-testing available following repairs
Specifications
Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
Detects and measures surface-breaking discontinuities such as cracks in ferromagnetic materials. Commonly applied to welds, crane hooks, padeyes, lifting points and supporting structures.
Eddy Current Testing
Used to inspect welds and the surrounding heat-affected zone (HAZ), typically up to approximately 15 mm either side of the weld. Can often be performed without removing paint, subject to coating thickness and weld condition. Where indications are identified, further inspection using MPI may be required.
Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT)
Used to identify surface-breaking discontinuities in non-magnetic materials, including stainless steel. Suitable for welds and larger surface areas, subject to appropriate environmental and surface conditions.
Pre- and post-load test NDT
Inspection of critical welds and structural areas before and after load testing to help verify structural integrity.
Lifting equipment inspection
Thorough examination of PPE and loose and fixed lifting equipment, including inspection reports and recommendations where equipment should be removed from service.
Reporting and certification
Examination reports and pass documentation are provided following inspection.
Technician qualification
NDT inspections are carried out by technicians holding SNT Level II certification.
