This new product has been developed to provide our clients with a high specification drop camera system for use utilising existing geophysical tow cables.
Quality of build and ease of use have been primary considerations during the design stage and clients were consulted on how best to improve on the current systems on the market. The resulting Uni-Lander provides a suitable platform to allow the use of the latest and best imaging cameras and sensors.
Topside Equipment
The topside equipment is made up of two main components, these are housed in a Ruggedised 4U Flight Case.
- QLINK PRO topside Power and Communications Unit.
- Industrial PC
The main function of the QLINK PRO 2U topside Unit is to provide a robust communications link to and from the Lander subsea unit and provide a source of power for the subsea equipment. The communication link VDSL signal is superimposed on top of DC power, and is carried over an armoured umbilical coaxial cable.
The internal power supply provides a current limited output to provide a source of DC power to the Lander subsea pod, and auxiliary systems mounted within the Lander frame.
Control of the Subsea equipment is achieved via bespoke software running on a dedicated Industrial PC. This PC is housed along with the topside power supply in the flight case.
Subsea Equipment
The Lander frame is fabricated from 316L Stainless steel tube and is made up of several sections which are bolted together. This sectional approach allows for the frame to be dismantled for shipping as well as making it easy to repair in the event of damage. The frame is free flooding.
The frame lift section is designed with 15 holes to allow the frame to be balanced to compensate for any additional weight, or to allow for the angle of pull to be changed to suit operations.
The Subsea equipment fitted within the Lander frame consists of the following main components.
Digital Stills Camera with live video feed

Eagle IP 180 degree camera
- Provides full 180 degree view or “digital pan and tilt” for complete situational awareness around the lander
