A subsea hydraulic shear cuts by closing two jaws under hydraulic force, severing tubulars and structural steel in a single pass, without the standoff or spool-up time a wire saw needs. Shears suit fast, repeatable cuts; wire saws suit large-diameter or multi-string sections a jaw cannot close around. Unique Group’s range spans two systems. The UG Subsea Hydraulic Shears deliver 1850Te cutting force with a 965mm jaw opening and jaw depth, cutting pipelines up to 36 inches in diameter with 1.5-inch wall thickness. The water-hydraulic RenOcean Subsea Hydraulic Shear is available in various sizes and configurations, operated by diver or ROV. Between them they cut:
