UG: Unexploded Ordnance Lifting and Safe Disposal System (UXO-LSDS)

The UXO-LSDS has been developed to support all those working in mine recovery to safely dispose of the UXO from the ocean floor. The system is based upon the robust Seaflex Mono Buoyancy Unit design, which has a proven track record over 20 years within the rigours of the offshore industry. This is now integrated with housing for as many as 9 L, 300-bar composite cylinders, as required, plus a Sonardyne Lightweight Acoustic Release Transponder (LRT), to form the LSDS.

Unique Group supplies the UG UXO LSDS for deployment by divers or remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), with commercial ROV rental and sales available for operators planning an ROV-based lift. For diver deployment, the UG LR50 and extended-reach UG LRE 2-diver open-cage launch-and-recovery systems (LARS) provide controlled launch and recovery of diving teams to the worksite.
