Summary of the Project
Unique Group’s Buoyancy & Ballast team in Singapore successfully completed inspection & crane proof load testing of 4 Deck Cranes onboard the MV Falcon Bay vessel. The test was performed using 35T Water Weights bags by our engineers in line with the local COVID-19 safety measures.
The load testing operation was completed over a very short span of 9 hours over a weekend.
Client Requirement
The client requested Unique Group to conduct inspection & crane proof load testing of 4 Deck Cranes onboard the MV Falcon Bay vessel. Each crane was to be tested with 35T water load.
Challenges faced
The client’s vessel urgently required the load test to be completed failing which the vessel was not allowed to sail. The client contacted the Unique Group team at the very last minute and requested for the job to be completed over the weekend. Our technicians had an early morning start in order to achieve the weekend deadline. A strong team spirit backed by technical expertise helped the team to mobilise the order and complete the load testing service as per schedule.

The load test operation on each crane was achieved in a quick, safe, and cost-effective manner using our 35t capacity Water Weights load testing bags. Over a very short span of 9 hours, the team fully assisted with the rigging, filling, testing, draining, and site clearance thereby marking the project completion in the safest and efficient manner. The load testing was also witnessed by a Classed Surveyor.
