What motivated you to join the company, and what has kept you here for so many years?
I was initially drawn to Unique Group because of its strong reputation in the Gulf of Mexico’s diving industry and its ability to provide top-notch project solutions. What has kept me here for numerous years is the exceptional and dedicated team, engaging work that consistently challenges my abilities, and colleagues who offer unwavering support. At UG, I have the privilege of collaborating with people who are equally passionate about excellence and committed to achieving our objectives collectively.
What do you believe are the key factors that have contributed to the company’s longevity and success?
I believe the following key factors have contributed to the company’s longevity and success.
Innovation: Our commitment to innovation, staying at the forefront of industry trends, adopting and creating new technologies, and maintaining a diversified products & services portfolio has been crucial.
People: Throughout the years, we have consistently prioritized our team’s development, providing them with the right tools and fostering an environment where they can freely express and challenge ideas. This cultural approach has resulted in significant improvements over time.
Customer: Our unwavering focus on customer satisfaction and delivering value has built strong, long-lasting relationships.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of working with the company for such an extended period?
The most rewarding aspect has been witnessing the company’s growth and evolution, as well as my own professional development. I started with Unique Group as a Design Engineer and spent my initial years mostly developing P&IDs and 3D drawings. With Unique I was able to work offshore, trouble shoot dive equipment, maintain buoyancy & ballast bags, conduct load tests, and execute several projects. Over the years I have been fortunate to be able to undertake a wide variety of responsibilities. It is very satisfying to see the experience that I have gained through these opportunities is shaping development strategies that we are implementing today in the region. Additionally, the relationships I’ve built with colleagues over the years have been incredibly rewarding.
What advice would you give to new employees or those starting their careers in this company?
I would advise new employees to fully embrace the opportunities for learning and collaboration. Unique Group is a global player with several industry experts leading the company in a new direction. The company values knowledge sharing and teamwork.
