Unique Group, one of the world’s leading integrated subsea and offshore solution providers, has entered into an exclusive partnership with Aberdeen-based load cell designer and manufacturer JCM Load Monitoring, in a move which will see JCM products being offered for rental or purchase via Unique Group’s global network.

The agreement covers Unique Group’s worldwide operations through its bases in the US & Canada, Netherlands, UAE, Nigeria, South Africa, India, and Singapore.

Unique Group has recently scaled up its Water Weights brand capabilities, with the introduction of more 110t Water Weight bags into its worldwide rental pool, alongside new 1350t Britlift spreader beams, in order to be more responsive to the demands of the global heavy lift testing market.

Graham Brading, Group Director of Unique Group’s Buoyancy & Ballast division, explained: “Durable, reliable load cells are an integral part of the equipment package, for all load testing work. We have had a good business relationship with JCM for many years, so when the opportunity to represent the company across our worldwide locations arose, we were happy to partner. This enables us to offer our global client list the same level of product quality, knowledge and support that we have always received from JCM ourselves.”

JCM Managing Director, Jim Murray, commented: “This exciting partnership comes at an ideal time for JCM. It coincides with the launch of our new ALRS2 radio package, which is now our standard offering on all load links and load shackles, with units in stock up to 400 tonne and the capability of supplying higher capacity units on request.

“As a major user of loadcells within its own rental pool, Unique Group understands the benefits that our products bring to the industry and are ideally placed to offer the best advice on JCM products to its global client base.”
